Well the quest for a prospective Mrs Midnight continues. Catherine Zeta lookalike has gone AWOL ... permanently. Fit 'n' Forty turned out to be oh so needy, so she has been shown the proverbial catflap. I seem to attract 'needy' women. I have no idea why, but these women seem to fall for me hook line and sinker, before I've really dangled the bait. Don't women realise that slowly slowly catchee monkey?
In other news, I think I've found my perfect woman though! What do ya reckon?
In the meantime, while I'm trying to track Vanessa down using my military connections, I've got a second date with the tall brunette from last week. The first date was verrrry slow. I started out wondering if she was on Prozac, but she livened up a little towards the end of the evening and seems worth a second chance. I was impressed by her wheels, less so by her dress sense, which I found a bit frumpy and she is really softly spoken to the point I was struggling to hear her at times. It was a lovely warm bar and I was almost drifting off to sleep at one point, as her voice was kind of therapeutic. So at least she could be a cure for my insomnia if nothing else.
As usual, I have other irons in the fire. A rather keen legal eagle is the latest and we could be meeting up real soon. I'm in a purple patch at the moment, I'm fortunate enough to be meeting a few viable candidates and I'm almost positive that this will be the year when I meet Miss Perfect. I feel it in my bones.

It is rather endearing that you refer to yourself as a monkey. Do you mean you would go with any woman who offered you a handful of nuts? Re needy women...the way you will know straight off if a woman is not needy is that she has a busy life. If she cancels a few dates that is a good sign. If she is sitting by the phone all weekend after a date waiting for your call that is cat-flap time.
Enigma - From what I saw of the US girls in 'Stan, they know how to handle weapons. I think your take on things is probably true, but I think there may be more to it than just that.
Kaz - It's great to watch those gunners in action, so I wouldn't scatter her targets! I also share her love of puppies.
Vi - I hope you're right, but she is being very elusive so far!

Em - If they were cashews I probably would! I'm quite easy to please. I've actually found that the busy women are just as needy as they see me as welcome relief from their busy schedules. Plus I give good massages so I can de-stress them. Would the clingons admit waiting by the phone all weekend? I wonder.
I think she is out there, so just heads up, when you FINALLY get into a relationship you "think" is the one. You will meet her. Happens every time.

I don't know what to suggest in that case. Do women of a certain age (late thirties) just get desperate to settle down, have kids and think that by smothering the poor bloke on day one that will pay off?? The reality may be simply that you really are so much nicer than the average arsehole that women just fall for you!

Em - I don't think you can generalise about women in their late 30s like that. I think your second comment may be pretty near the mark though as I've been told by a number of them it's really difficult to meet a decent bloke (and one who is taller than them usually comes into the equation).
The thing that amuses me is that when I was younger I wasn't the kind of man that attracted a lot of female attention, but in the last couple of years, I've been in demand. Best strike while the iron is hot eh!!
